What is music therapy?
Music Therapy is an established health profession in which music is used to address physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of individuals. A music therapist uses rhythm, melody, tempo and phrasing to strengthen a client’s abilities, which in turn, transfers to other areas of their lives. Additionally, music therapy has shown to provide avenues for communication that can be helpful to those who find it difficult to express themselves in words. (American Music Therapy Association).
